Short Black Café Experience


Feeling like some Italian, we headed into Short Black Café in Camberwell to dine. Usually known for their brunch’s, they also are open for dinner 7 days a week. We were greeted with warm staff and an relaxing venue. Plenty of room for large groups and friends. The menu ramps up for dinner time offering some quality dining options with plenty of sharing options, mains and of course wood fire pizza!

Devouring Report

Starters came out, Prosciutto wrapped melon looked well presented. Thinking it was a bit of a weird combo, but it really works well. The saltiness of the meat with a fresh crisp fruit is really a winner. The arancini balls were filled with a pocket of cheese and cheesy throughout the rice. What also made them our favourite starter was the crispy outside that tied it together perfectly.

The pasta, wow! You can really tell by the freshness that the pasta and sauces are made in house. One of the team are not a massive pasta fan, but the ragu was some of the best we have had! Very impressed. The quality of ingredients shows throughout all the dishes. The wood fire pizza was good. Pear on a pizza works, and the bocconcini was tasty, but we were left wishing there was more on the pizza.

Overall everything was good, a very good experience and the staff are super friendly and happy to tell you the back story of all the foods and their favourites.
